Investigating

It looks like this issue is still not fixed in the newest update - they have released several fixes but the issue regarding the changed class is still causing critical errors on sites.

They have now also reported that there is a security vulnerability that was introduced in 3.6.0 - 3.6.2, yay! So if you are on any of those versions and aren’t having the previously mentioned problem, please update to 3.6.4.

If you are on 3.5.6, it is safe to stay there and we will update you as things progress.

Issue

Updating from 3.5.6 to 3.6.1 can cause a Fatal Error or unseen issues to sites.

In the code of the plugin, a class called Scheme_Color that is used in many themes and templates has changed in the update.

If the site using the plugin uses this class in their templates or theme, it can present as a Fatal Error on the front end of the site. We have also seen broken links and navigation bars, issues using the Elementor editor, and an inability to edit pages and posts.

Rolling the plugin back to 3.5.6 after the update immediately resolves all issues. It is a known issue, so we will update when it is fixed - https://forum.elementor.com/development-24/fatal-error-class-elementor-scheme-color-not-found-15404
