Yoast 20.0

Bug fixes for the minor issues in Yoast version 20.0 were released in version 20.1. If we manage the updates on your site, our team will begin updating sites to Yoast 20.1 this week. If you manage your own updates, you’re fine to update to 20.1 as well.

If you’ve already updated to Yoast SEO 20.0 and are not seeing any problems, please do not panic! The bugs we’ve seen so far are not critical. It’s mostly issues with some settings pages not displaying properly under certain circumstances.

However, if you have already updated, and do experience issues: They just made 20.0.1-RC1 (“Release Candidate 1”) available, which fixes the bugs that we saw.

You can download it here and then install it on your site:

After you download it, go to Plugins > Add New > Upload, and install it as if you’re adding a new plugin. WordPress will then give you the option to overwrite the free version of 20.0.

If we manage your updates, we still plan on waiting for a release fix (likely 20.1, in two weeks), before running those updates.

Also: Huge props to the Yoast team, who were incredibly responsive and proactive, addressing these issues very quickly! Considering that this is a major overhaul of their interface, this has been a remarkably smooth rollout. Bravo! 🎉

A new major version of Yoast, version 20.0, with a new modern interface, was released today. We’re excited about the new look but not about the bugs that have already been found in this new version.
