Intermittent "403 Forbidden" Responses on Cloudflare

Cloudflare has marked the likely related 530 incident as “Resolved” on their status page, so we’re going to do the same here.

We’re told a public-facing incident report with more details will be available in the next day or two – once that’s up we’ll share it in our Facebook group. 😃

It appears that the issue has been resolved at this time, and our uptime monitoring is showing all sites back up. 🎉

We’re terribly sorry for the interruption today, and are awaiting more details from Cloudflare about what actually happened. Will follow up with more info as soon as we can!

We’re still working with Cloudflare Enterprise emergency support on getting this resolved.

In the meantime, already cached content appears to be serving okay – so we recommend NOT doing any work in your WordPress dashboard, so that you do not accidentally clear any caches.

We are seeing intermittent “403 Forbidden” errors on sites, triggering a lot of up/down notifications from our uptime monitoring.

Sites appear to be mostly up, and none of us have been able to recreate the issue, but a few clients have reported seeing some 403 responses. This is happening across multiple hosting providers, so it is not host-specific.

We have contacted Cloudflare Enterprise emergency support and they are actively investigating. It may be related to this open issue (increased 530 responses). https://www.cloudflarestatus.com/incidents/kdpqngcbbn25
